just because i'm basically part robot since i wear an insulin pump doesn't mean i'm a monster...diabetics are people too
DiaRunnerHi Everybody! My name is Jacob, and I am a college graduate from Stony Brook University on Long Island, and a certified athletic trainer (ATC). I am from New Jersey, and ran competitively in high school for 7 seasons. My sophomore year of high school, I was diagnosed with diabetes, and to this day I have not let it change who I am.
Since I have started college, I have become more of an endurance athlete, and a marathon runner. Having diabetes as a teenager, and getting diagnosed with it then too is definitely not easy. Fortunately, I am a rule follower, and I never had difficulties but I do know that is common at the high school age. I have decided to create a blog related to living with diabetes and running as well, hoping to help anyone in need of a little advice, or just needs someone to talk to. Who better, than someone who has (and is) experiencing it first hand. I plan on posting several times throughout each month, and hope this becomes a useful resource to all. I hope this blog is found helpful. |
